"Performance tennis is tough for all involved, lots of hard work, highs and lows! Halton HPC provides a high quality, friendly and calm atmosphere for the player to develop at their own pace. The real professionalism, enthusiasm and positive approach of the coaches and staff is what sets Halton apart." - Paul Dean, Feb '11
All our Performance Tennis programmes are provided by the EveryBall International (EBI) Academy.
Performance Sport is, we believe, perfectly captured by Ernest Shackleton - in his advert in The Times newspaper in 1914 for the expedition to Antarctic:
Men Wanted: For hazardous journey. Small wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger, safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in case of success.
It presents a vivid image of the journey that lies ahead for our performance players.
The successful Great Britain Olympic cycling moto of 'benchmarking against the world, not the national standard' is exactly where we have set our sights & focus not only on TE & ITF tournaments & rankings, but every aspect of our performance organization.
Dominic King is our Head of Athlete Development for High Performance.
EUPSYCHIA
There is very little that separates the top sportsmen and women - in terms of technical/physical ability. Eupsychia – our unique Play to Win experiential learning & skills programme that involves parents/players/coaches, utilising Green Park outdoor activities centre and a top class business facilitator.
Building a strong trusting relationships between a player/parents & the coach is, we believe, key to the success of promising juniors. Contact the club for more info on the programme.

TOURING PROGRAMME
Our core belief is that Elite Performance means our young players must regularly expose themselves to European travel/tournaments from an early age, and as soon as possible, to ITF events around the world. This has resulted in some fabulous experiences, a great reality check on the standard needed to achieve success and a Professional Career and of course a whole lot of fun for the players. Some of the countries we've visited include:
- Australia
- Denmark
- Estonia
- Israel
- New Zealand
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- Thailand & Hong Kong
- Touring camps - regular trips to La Manga & Bruguera's, Spain
BELGIAN ALLIANCE
The Everyball International Academy has created a new alliance with the Carl Maes Academy, Macten, just outside Oostende in Belgium in the small rural town of Gistel. Carl, former coach to Kim Clijsters and Head of Women's Tennis at the LTA has recently set up his new Academy which boasts 8 Red clay courts and 6 indoor hards. This new alliance will enable us at Halton to run clay court training camps there and club visits whilst also taking our top players to work with Carl and make use of his substantial experience. Macten is only a 45 minute drive up the coast from Calais and can be reached by Eurotunnel or Ferry.

EDUCATION & SCHOOL
Education and performance sport do not need to be mutually exclusive. To read our new prospectus - how you can combine education with your tennis, please click here. For most top players there will come a point when mainstream school education timetables/structure is no longer compatible with their ambition to play professional tennis. Usually this starts to become apparent in Year 7 or 8, and becomes a major frustration and potential blocker. We have a purpose built classroom, including relevant technology and internet within the Coaches Office Building, and provide a combination of Tutor Led and/or Distance Learning options.
TUTORING IN FRENCH/SPANISH
Prior to obtaining his Personal Training qualification, Core Strength team member Stef King completed a degree in European Studies and Languages. Stef is available to provide tutoring in French and Spanish for any children that may need assistance with their studies. To find out more, email stef@corestrengthgym.co.uk or call 07740 923461.
AYLESBURY GRAMMAR SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP
We now offer PE A level in partnership with Aylesbury Grammar School. Other subjects may also be taken either at GCSE or A-level. As such you can now have a unique flexible approach/combination of on site tutors/Oxford home schooling or local school access.
AASE (ADVANCE APPRENTICESHIP SPORTING EXCELLENCE) Currently we have 8 players on the scheme. Anyone aged 16+ wishing to join the scheme, please contact Mike James.
